4 under the radar free agents
4 guys i haven't seen much mentioned but could be good players that come pretty cheap
Mark Anderson-DE New England
Bio- 6'4 255 age 28
This year stats-10 sacks
Breakdown-had a very solid season this year for the patriots recording 10 sacks, 6 Qb hits, and 27 Qb hurrys. All in all thats 43 times he got to the QB. A good number but not great. When you take into account he was a situational player and had limited snaps he got to the QB once every 7 passes. A phenomenal number when you consider guys like Trent Cole and Carlos Dunlap who are known for getting to the Qb get there once every 5 and 6 passes respectively. His only problem is that he has been absent most of his career only registering double digit sacks his rookie season as well as this season. He seems like he could be a pretty solid situational pass rusher that doesn't break the bank and hes atleast worth keeping an eye on on whether he resigns with the patriots or not. Could mimic the role John Chick played this year.
Demetrius Bell-OT Buffalo
Bio-6'5 311 age 27
This years stats-1 sack and 7 pressures allowed in 7 games
Breakdown-Hes coming off an injury which is really disappointing because it seemed that Bell had started putting it together the first half of the season. He is an athletic tackle that has a body that just looks like its built to play on the right side. He struggled his first year but has steadily gotten better every year leading up to this year (his 4th) where he was the strong point on a once very weak Bills oline. He plays LT for Buffalo but it seems that his natural position would be RT. If gene doesn't want to address RT this draft then he could be an option to play the right side. He wont bust the bank and is a solid player with a pretty big upside. He allowed only one pressure a game before getting hurt which if that pace continued would have put him in the All pro company of guys like Jason Peters, Joe Thomas and Joe Staley.Probably has the most upside out of anybody listed and somebody worth looking at.
Ben Grubbs-OG Baltimore
Bio-6'3 310 age 27
This year stats-4 sacks and 6 pressures allowed in 10 games
Breakdown-probably most everybody on this site knows atleast a little about Ben Grubbs so i wont spend a lot of time talking about him. If the jags cant sign a guy like Carl Nicks but still want to upgrade the guard position a guy like Grubbs makes sense. He is a solid pass blocker and a road grading run blocker with a wide body and some good power. He would fit right in with MJD. Hes also coming off of turf toe which is worth noting. Grubbs would be expensive but not on the same level as Nicks and there are reports the ravens aren't optimistic that he will be resigned, so he could be a good player to watch if the jags are looking to address guard this offseason.
Brent Grimes-CB Atlanta
Bio-5'10 183 age 28
This year stats-allowed 44.6% of passes thrown his way to be completed, 5th best in the league
Breakdown-Ok let me start off by saying he isnt going to come cheap. Hes also like 2/3 people i mentioned above is coming off of an injury that sidelined him for several games this year. But with all that being said he is becoming one of the more dominant corners in the NFL flirting with the classification of "shut down." Grimes only had 258 yards thrown on him in 12 games which isnt half bad(13th in the league). He also has the ability to be a playmaker in the secondary having 13 picks and 56 passed defensed in 4 years of starting. If the jaguars are serious about making an upgrade to the corner position he is a guy that could help the jags have one of the best young secondary in the nfl. Look out for him to make a pay day wherever he goes.

Funny you mentioned Anderson
he was someone I started to.strongly consider and keep a close eye on when I payed more attention to the Patriots towards the very end of the season and post-season. I thought he was very impressive, most notably with his pass-rushing skills/abilities. I think he very much will be retained by N.E., though. I dont know what kind of asking price he will be seeking but it’ll probably come Right under neath Mincey’s if he’s allowed to hit the open-market, and if thats the case I think thats too much if he would primarily be just a “passing” downs defensive player.

He is an impressive pass rusher
i just hope he decides to leave to get a bigger role and doesnt get high money so that we could grab him for under 15 mil. But he has the potential to get some pretty decent cash

Yeah my thoughts exactly
I think the difference in money would have to be substantial for him to leave N.E., though.

Bell would be my choice
Assuming that your right about him being a better fit for RT, not having a turnstile on the right side of the line would instantly improve the offense

You wrecked it
so I rec’d it.
Glad to hear some names that aren’t Coples, Martin, Reiff, Kirkpatrick, V. Jax, D. Jax, Bowe, Colston, Jeffries, RGIII, Wright, Richardson, Williams, Avril, Blackmon, Johnson, Douglas, Redmon or Tebow, to name a few.
I voted Grimes. But I agree with Thunder64, we won’t be the only ones looking his way.

thanks for the rec
And I would love grimes. Him and cox would make it really tough for teams to pass on us

If we got Bell, a DE, and a WR in FA I would be very happy
Then we could focus on another young receiver in the first two rounds and go after a DE and CB early on too.
Maybe we can get Kroy Beirmann...
and then his girl can bring her show here! Real Housewives of Jacksonville.
Fidelis Ad Mortem
I was thinking of Grimes before this post
I like Grimes, I think hes worth money and Gene will like his skills and character. He may resign but if not he may elect to stick around the same area. JAX is nearby.
grimes paired with lowry landry and cox
sounds like another top 5 finish
what about
Anthony Collins , 26 OT from Cincinnati?
i would go Bell here.
he is really good in the passimg game which is something we need as we develop our talented but mechanicaly challenged QB.
