WR, DE, & DB….Questions Surrounding the NFL Combine.
Many Jaguar fans will be keeping an eye one a few different positions and players at this year's NFL combine. The major needs for the Jaguars are WR, DE, and DB.
This is shaping up to be a draft void of big time talent. The DE position is one position lacking big time players. There doesn't appear to be an Aldon Smith in this year's DE draft class. Coples looks like the only DE worthy of a top 10 draft pick. I have heard comparisons between Coples and Derrick Harvey.
Top DE Prospects
Quinton Coples, North Carolina
Melvin Ingram, South Carolina
Vinny Curry, Marshall
Andre Branch, Clemson
Nick Perry, USC
Whitney Mercilus, Illinois
Cornerback is another position that the Jaguars are expected to add players at. Unlike the DE position the CB position is deeper. Morris Claiborne is the number one right now CB in the draft. Dre Kirkpatrick may have hurt his chance with an arrest, but the charges were dropped. When at Florida Jenkins held his own against top WRs. Jenkins is a small CB, so his size may be an issue in the NFL.
Top CB Prospects
Janoris Jenkins, North Alabama/Florida
Dre Kirkpatrick, Alabama
Morris Claiborne, LSU
Trumaine Johnson, Montana (I'm sure he is on Smith's radar)
Leonard Johnson, Iowa State
The WR class is headlined by Justin Blackmon who could be the number 2 pick in the draft or he could fall between 6-10. The question scouts have about Blackmon, Jeffery, and many or the other WR is how fast are they. The concern with Blackmon and Jeffery is that they have a subpar 40 yard dash time. If either of them run 4.6 or higher they will fall. Blackmon could fall to 7-10 and Jeffery could fall out of the first round.
Top WR Prospects
Justin Blackmon, Oklahoma State
Kendall Wright, Baylor
Michael Floyd, Notre Dame
Rueben Randle, LSU
Mohamed Sanu, Rutgers
Alshon Jeffery, South Carolina
If Jacksonville is able to hit on some free agents they will be able to take the best available player in the draft, not biggest need.

Intrigues me a lot. Looks to have great tools and if he played with any type of descent quarterback would be a round one lock. Vinny curry my fav player in the draft hope he’s available in round 2.

The Problem with our Wide recievers is that they're never wide open and they have trouble receiving the ball...

I'm on the Kendall Wright...
bandwagon now. So if we could get him and either Melvin Ingram or Vinny Curry, I’d think we came away with two really good players at positions of need, mind you.
I am curious about how fast Juron Criner will run
I cant really make up my mind from highlight videos (4.5-4.6?)
Also I see Trumaine Johnson as more of a FS
hes not great in man but has athleticism and ball skills to be a pretty good FS, IMO
