Jacksonville Jaguars defensive end Jeremy Mincey is a player the team would like to keep on the long term, but the price is really what the question is. The Jaguars have begun negotiations with Mincey this week, according to a report by Tania Ganguli of the Florida Times-Union. The team is trying to re-sign some of their own free agents before NFL free agency begins on March 13.
Quietly, the Jaguars are taking steps toward re-signing their pending free agents while at the NFL Scouting Combine, according to sources. The Jaguars have begun negotiations for defensive end Jeremy Mincey and will meet again this week with his agent.
Ganguli also reports that the Jaguars have planned meetings with two other Jaguars pending free agents, safety Dwight Lowery and cornerback Rashean Mathis. Both were starters for the Jaguars last season, Lowery patching a massive hole in the secondary after he was acquired via trade from the New York Jets. Mathis is expected to be brought back, though what type of role and what kind of money is yet to be determined.
