It's official, Hines Ward will be released:

It's official, Hines Ward will be released by the PIttsburgh Steelers.

Per Adam Schefter,

"End of an era: Steelers will release Hines Ward"

Now I know all us Jags fans are so desperate for a 'proven' WR that we'll see a million posts about tossing him a veteran minimum contract. Please. Don't.

While Ward is one HECK of a player in his past life anyone wanting to pick him up would be doing so based only on his name. Frankly put Ward was forth on the Pittsburg depth chart this year behind Antonio Brown, Mike Wallace, Emmanuel Sanders, and Jerico Cotchery. Ward had 46 receptions for 381 yards and two TDs. That's the lowest amount of yards, or TDs that Hines has seen since 1998!!! (His rookie season)...He's lost it. That's the blunt truth.

I wish Ward the best on w/e team that he chooses to go to in the end. I just pray it's not in Duval County.

For every post I see about picking up Hines Ward......I kill you.
