Free agency starts on March 13 at 4:00pm and the Jags have $40 Million in cap space. For months we have been tossing out name like Stevie Johnson and Dwayne Bowe. However, many of the fan favorite players have received the franchise tag. What can we really except in free agency? Shahid Khan said that they were going to spend money, but Gene Smith said bringing in free agents like the team did last year was not the norm. We know Smith wants to build through the draft, not with high priced free agents. With these mixed message what are the Jaguars going to do in free agency?



The Jaguars have resigned Rashean Mathis, Guy Whimper, and franchised Josh Scobee. That leaves Dwight Lowery and Jeremy Mincey as the two guys that the Jags need to bring back. The problem is that Lowery and Mincey are both looking for big money. The rumors now are that Mincey and Lowery are not close to deals with the Jaguars. It is important that the Jaguars resign both Lowery and Mincey so that they can focus on WR in free agency.



We as fans wanted a new starting DE to go with Mincey and two starting WRs. Realistically the Jaguars will bring in two new starters and some guys to add dept. I’m bracing myself for guys like Brandon Lloyd and Robert Meachem at WR. I think they will bring Mincey back at DE and draft a DE in the first two rounds of the draft. I think Lowery will be gone.
