According to Tania Ganguli, the Jaguars have re-signed punter Nick Harris with the intent that he will compete with Spencer Lanning for the starting punter job in 2012.

The Jaguars have had turmoil at the punter position since Adam Podlesh escaped to Chicago through free agency. Harris joined the Jaguars in October 2011 after the Jaguars released, then-starter, Matt Turk.

Harris, 33, finished the season with a 42.7 yard per punt average and a 37.9 net punting average. Lanning was signed to a futures contract following the 2011 season.
