First, I'd like to say that us fans are a little upset by the fact that we've seen players falling of the shelves while we've had our knees in the sand; however, I think I speak for the majority when I say that having our guys resigned and acquiring Robinson is a good-but-late start. We're with you again. Please, please, please, Gene, don't let us down.
Mario Williams is still on the market and many of us are holding on to the hope that we will get him signed, although with each wave of news it seems unlikely he'll leave Buffalo. If he does, Gene, we expect you to be the next guy to bring him in. Do whatever you can, but get him in the building - you've got a decent track record of signing the big names you can actually get here. If you just can't sell us to him, go get Mark Anderson. He's my "Guy I've never heard of until today" guy of the day, and looks to have the kind of skills that would be very complimentary to Mincey's.
Ideally, let's trade back because there's not much elite talent projected 7-12 and there's tons of potential talent at positions of need in the 2nd-4th rounds. If you're really willing to trade back, this is the year to do it. Between Tannehill, Coples, Blackmon Richardson, Floyd, Reiff, Kirkpatrick and Keluchy, there's gotta be at least one team that falls in love with one of these guys and we're the perfect trade partner. Washington set the bar with how much should be traded, so we may get more than we think.
Next, lets get some receivers in this draft. There are lots. If we trade back, we may be in a perfect situation to pick up both Stephen Hill and Alshon Jeffrey. If we trade with New England for AT LEAST 27 and 31, we could potentially get Hill, Jeffrey AND Mike Wallace! How does that sound for value with your number 7 overall? Then again, with Hill and Wallace, we may choose to go ahead and pick up one of those CBs, DEs or RBs that are supposed to be so deep into the 2nd and 3rd this year instead of Jeffrey, and that would be okay, too.
I don't think these requests are too unreasonable. Hell, you don't even have to pick the exact examples of the players I used. You have served this team very well, but still have nothing that really has us convinced that you FOR SURE are better than any other GM out there. This is your chance. Please, Gene, don't let us down.
