The Ripple Effect of Bounties

Images_medium

Just a thought, but...

After the news break of the New Orleans/Washington bounty programs, what happens to guys like Brees, Nicks, Colston, Meachem, etc.?

If you're a free agent set to leave that locker room, what is your motivation? Do you look to get the hell out of dodge and separate yourself from the issue like your agent probably suggests, or is there now a reason for you to stay in New Orleans to prove something to the fans and the boys in the locker room?

My fondness for a good story makes me side with the latter, though I'd guess in the real world chances are it's the former. Could this affect how much people are willing to spend on Manning/Flynn, etc.?

Most importantly, if the Jaguars name gets associated with Gregg Williams all over national news media, whether investigated or not, will it affect a player's chance of signing with us? It's unlikely that investigations will be complete and punishments would be given by the time Free Agency hits. Why would a player want to join a team that may or may not be getting punished in the near future?
