Darrick Seymore from Jacksonville, Fla., writes: The way our new owner, Mr. Khan, rolled into Jacksonville, I was expecting some really flashing things to be happening by now. Not sure if this is the quiet before the storm or something else. What's your take in the apparent lack of activity here in J-Ville? Paul Kuharsky: Shad Khan is not about flashing things, so far, and that’s fine. Certainly he’s got a general manager and a coach who are not flashy.
In his post about the Jaguar’s team needs, MDS closed by writing that there aren’t many positions where the team doesn’t need help. Vito Stellino of the Florida Times-Union agrees and that’s why he’s making the case for the Jaguars trading out of the seventh overall pick to add additional selections later in the process.
The Jaguars have added a veteran presence to their receiving corps. Lee Evans agreed to a one-year deal with Jacksonville, a source said, and is expected to sign it tomorrow, a day before the Jaguars begin their veteran orientation mini-camp. Evans visited with the Jaguars last month. Evans spent his first seven seasons with the Buffalo Bills, after Buffalo drafted him in 2004 when Mike Mularkey was their head coach. He had two 1,000-yard seasons with the Bills. Evans spent last season with the Baltimore Ravens and the Ravens released him after the season.
