There has been a lot of talk about the Jaguars trading the 7th overall pick for another pick and a later spot in the draft. I've been open to the option since there isn't a clear cut individual to take at 7. Quinton Coples is nice but his work ethic and pass rush ability have been questioned. So I got to thinking of the possibilities that could happen through trade and came up with this:
What if the Jags traded the 7th overall pick for a 1st and 2nd round pick in the teens. With the first round pick, the Jaguars select DE Melvin Ingram, or any other options at DE. With their original 2nd round pick, the Jaguars select a WR like Sanu or another WR and with the 2nd round pick via trade the Jaguars trade it to the Colts for Dwight Freeney and a later round pick like 4th or 5th. Hopefully Freeney can come with a restructured contract too.
The Jags basically pick up 2 pass rushers by trading the 7th overall selection.
Thoughts on that scenario?
