To: Gene Smith / From: JagNation

For 8 years, the Jags have suffered & took enough criticism for not replacing Jimmy Smith. Despite the criticism from the media (which I could care less for), they're absolutely right. Regardless if we find a trade partner, our first pick "should," by all accounts, be a WR. If Blackmon's there, it's a no-brainer. We gotta take a risky approach & select one or another anyways. I don't care if Hill is ahead of Floyd on Gene's board, we need need need to solidify the WR position early with enough luck that he pans out to be a true number 1. Enough is enough Gene, we could've solidified it through FA, I love the Robinson & Evans signings, but its simply not enough.

I feel like either way, whoever we pick at 7 is ultimately reaching to some degree. So we might as well reach for the position we know we need. Our D was ranked 6th without a great pass-rush, & the signing of Ross gives us at least another year to worry about a CB. The OL blocked for the NFL leading rusher, so theirs not much more we really need. I hope Gene grades out excellence, this is also the only way we'll see if Gabbert pans out.
