I extended the draft from 38 picks to 47, because the Jaguars picked up another 2nd round pick in the trade with the New York Jets.
Picks Explained:
- Chandler Jones - This is the kind of surprise pick, that will surprise many. His stock has been rising, but at highest, it's probably a late 1st round pick. And this will be called a reach. With some good coaching, and having some veterans on the team. Chandler Jones should develop into an every down great defensive end.
- AJ Jenkins - He's a 2nd round talent, and some have him in their top 5 receivers, reportedly. His stock has been rising, and although nothing he does is elite, everything is pretty good, and he has no weaknesses. His route running can use a little work, but he should be a factor day in and out.
- Josh Robinson - This is a good pick, because Robinson clearly has talent, and can develop into a great defensive back. He has some technical flaws, but nothing major. Is very talented, physically. And is not afraid to tackle. He'll have to start off his career on special teams, but in 2 years, can be a good starter. 4.33 40 yard dash. Finished 1st at the combine, in his broad, vertical, 40, and shuttle among defensive backs.
