After the most exciting draft the Jaguars had in recent memory, I am more optimistic then ever about the talent Jaguars acquired this year. The best receiver in college football the past two years, a pass rusher, which in many fans eyes is the final piece to the defense, a real punter, depth at defensive tackle till Knighton gets healthy and Mike " The Hammer" Harris. I'm so confident that I'm talking noise all day at work. Then after I got off work this evening, I decide to turn on the radio to my favorite local sports radio station 1010XL. What is the first word I hear? Punter.
All I heard was whining about how terrible the pick was and some how Tim Tebow got into the conversation, which made me almost turn it off immediately. I thought it would be over soon, than the radio announcer went off on Gene Smith for picking a punter in the 3rd round and how it can't be justified. Enough is enough. If he produces it doesn't matter where he was picked.
Why is the one negative of the draft the biggest news. Look at the over all picture. Some fans are excited about what the jaguars are doing. I am not from Jacksonville, but its sad when the local media talks bad about their own team. How do you expect people to get excited about the jaguars if the local media is not behind them. I was born in Tallahassee, so naturally I'm a FSU fan, but even when the program was in decline the local media was always behind the team.
The Jacksonville Jaguars put Jacksonville on the map and the city has grown since because of it. Sorry, just upset as a true jag fan. I wish Big Cat Country could teach local media on what fans want to hear. Justin Blackmon and Andre Branch have the talent that could push the Jaguars over edge and the Jaguars have the staff to use them properly. Its not the same old Jaguars. Some people are too blind to see that. Go Jags!!!!!!!!
