Jacksonville Jaguars defensive tackle Terrance Knighton had emergency surgery on his eye earlier on Sunday related to an incident that occurred at Pure nightclub in the southside of Jacksonville early Sunday morning. The extent of the injury and what exactly the injury was at this time is unknown, but Knighton has finished up with surgery and has been released to his home. As I mentioned before, I was told the injury was very serious.
#Jaguars DT Terrance Knighton has been discharged from the hospital and is back at home. He has a doctor's appointment tomorrow afternoon.— Tania Ganguli (@taniaganguli) April 8, 2012
The extent of Knighton's injury as it pertains to his 2012 NFL season likely won't be known until after his doctor's appointment tomorrow, if even then. There is some concern that the injury could force Knighton to miss the 2012 season, a contract year for the fourth-year defensive tackle. Knighton was originally drafted by the Jaguars in the third round of the 2009 NFL draft and has started nearly every game since his rookie season, missing a handful during the 2011 NFL season.
