On November 9, the Florida Gators and Georgetown Hoyas will face each other in a basketball game on the deck of a U.S. Navy vessel in Jacksonville. According to Kevin Brockway of the Gainesville Sun, tickets will be made available for the game to the public on a limited basis (for about 4,000-5,000 fans).
One day before that game the Jaguars are set to face the Colts at Everbank Field in a Thursday Night Football event that could be packaged with the Florida vs. Georgetown game, according to Jacksonville Sports and Entertainment executive director Alan Verlander.
"We are working on it," Verlander said. "There is a way to sell tickets, per se, but NAS Mayport can’t sell tickets on base. So we’re working on a package deal right now involving the Jaguars."
"We're expecting it to be a hot ticket."
If the Jaguars are able to work out a package deal it sounds like an easy way to sell 4,000-5,000 seats for a nationally televised, primetime game or provide an interesting opportunity to season ticket holders.
