The Jaguars announced they have reached terms with and signed fifth round pick Brandon Marshall to a contract. The 6-2, 243-pound linebacker is the fourth of the six rookie draft picks to sign with the Jaguars.
Marshall played in all 52 games for the Nevada Wolfpack over the last four seasons and is the first linebacker drafted by the Jaguars since they selected Thomas Williams in the fifth round of the 2008 NFL Draft. In Marshall's senior season he recorded 102 tackles and two sacks. Marshall did have two minor knee surgeries in college, but they did not cost him a game and according to Marshall, they are no longer an issue.
With Marshall and three other rookie draft picks signed, third round pick, punter Bryan Anger, and first round pick, wide receiver Justin Blackmon, are the only two 2012 draft picks not yet under contract. The length and terms of the contract have not yet been officially released.
