Jacksonville Jaguars first-round pick wide receiver Justin Blackmon will hold a press conference on Wednesday at 1:15 p.m. to publicly discuss his aggravated DUI arrest in Stillwater, OK over the weekend. Blackmon will be joined by Jaguars general manager Gene Smith and head coach Mike Mularkey during the press conference, the team announced in a press release.
The Jaguars want to get the issue behind them so the team can move forward. They're still trying to push tickets and rolling out their caravan campaign, so getting the negative press over and done with would behoove them. We'll have updates as soon as they're available from the press conference, of which I'm sure Blackmon will be overly apologetic. There is still no word on if the league plans to discipline Blackmon other than a fine, but they are investigating the matter.
So, after tomorrow we should be pretty much done with this until the NFL determines punishment.
