Where Do The Jaguars Linebackers Rank?

Stay connected for news and updates

As we've been running through the defensive units in the NFL and seeing where the Jacksonville Jaguars rank, we move on to probably the best unit on the Jaguars defense, their linebacker unit. Jaguars general manager Gene Smith has called the unit one of the tops in the NFL and Paul Posluszny mentioned Daryl Smith as one of the best in the league.

SB Nation's Ryan Van Bibber ranked the linebacker units in the NFL and placed the Jaguars in a good spot.

8. Jacksonville Jaguars

You can be forgiven for overlooking the Jaguars' defense. They paid handsomely last spring for Paul Posluszny, but it was worth it. Daryl Smith is a classic example of a very good outside linebacker who plays well in coverage and against the run, but gets lost in the media because he is not a pass rusher. He led all outside linebackers with 63 stops last season.

I think this is about right for the Jaguars linebackers.
