In January there came reports that general manager Gene Smith issued a challenge to defensive tackle Terrance Knighton. According to Tania Ganguli, Smith told Knighton that if he took care of his weight during the 2012 NFL offseason that he would end up getting a pay day that would "set his family for life."
It sounds like Knighton held up his end of the bargain.
Despite an eye injury suffered during a nightclub incident, Knighton reported for camp Thursday and impressed those that saw him. John Oehser of Jaguars.com tweeted that he's "hearing he looks great" and the official Twitter account of the Jaguars was even more complimentary:
There is one guy that means business in 2012, @Yougotroasted96.Wow, one look at him and there is a difference.#AllIn#ReadyToDominate

Knighton has had struggles with keeping his weight down in the past and missed the beginning of the 2011 training camp after showing up to camp 20 pounds overweight.
