Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Mike Thomas' struggles in training camp were widely documented and discussed, leaving a lot of people, including myself, to speculate on whether Thomas would make the final roster. Fast forward to Friday evening, and Thomas led the Jaguars in receiving yards and looked like the player many thought he could be after the 2010 season.
"I'm just doing what I'm supposed to do, just playing football," Thomas told 1010XL's Jessica Blaylock after Friday night's preseason matchup with the New York Giants.
Thomas was asked by Blaylock about the speculation on his roster spot with the Jaguars due to his struggles catching the football in training camp, and seemingly gave his best Allen Iverson impression.
"It's training camp, man. It ain't always the best, it ain't always the worst," Thomas said. "That's just how training camp is."
Thomas said he never once felt like his roster spot was in danger.
"Nope," Thomas said when asked if he was worried about making the final roster. "Y'all did, not me."
