I'll admit I've only attended one practice so far, but it seems very difficult to be optimistic about anything above 7 wins this year. But after thinking about how much particular units can change year to year without much of a warning, perhaps there is some cause for optimism.
If, in theory, you could take the 2010 jaguars offense and combine it with the 2011 jaguars defense (two units where most players are still on the team), how many wins would that team make? Not solely from a personnel standpoint, but chemistry and all that jazz that made each unit better that particular year than in surrounding years. Looking at the statistics of those respective units, and then glancing at our schedule, my guess would be 9-7, maybe 10-6. Thats possibly good enough for a wildcard, and maybe even the division (if the Texans get hit by injuries or lose both divisional games to the jaguars).
