Whau, just got pissed off at most of you guys, and with all the jabber in here the 3-4 years that’s saying something.
Having followed the Jags since 1999 and being located in Copenhagen, Denmark (not a state in the US, a country in Europe) you can imagine how many Jags games I have been able to attend. Not many! So, you might guess that I for one am thrilled that "my" Jags are finally coming to Europe so I will be able to see ONE game. Yes, that’s right - not 10, not 9 but ONE game. That’s enough to get me excited.
But then you read all your entries in the chats and you get oh so tired of you all:
unhipcat: "..In all honesty, internationally, they don't know the difference between the Jaguars and the Steelers.."
What is that? Racist? You don’t hear me commenting on your mental capacity! For you enlightenment the NFL following in Europe and Asia is extremely strong since 2000 when a lot of international TV stations started broadcasting games live. In Denmark alone we have all the national games on every weekend. And, even though there is 7 hours’ time difference, people still stay up till 4-5am in the morning to watch the late Sunday game and/or Monday night. Also, there IS a reason why NFL can charge so outrages for their GamePass, cause we all are not content with just national games anymore. Everybody wants to follow their team.
Section242: "The biggest issue I really see is recovery time once players are back in jax and lost time on flights.."
Whether you play west coast or London is the same deal. We haven’t changed the time zones terminology in Europe so we will not tax you extra. The hours you lose getting there we will hand back on the return flight - promise!
PaLMSports: "Taxes around 60% in England for top earners that is.."
Ehh, no. You got your European country’s mixed up. That’s Denmark you are thinking of. UK is way lower!
packerman: "..It doesn’t matter to me whether or not Jacksonville has a globally popular team.."
Well, f*** you to!
Ironmanxrs2: "..I'd much rather give up a preseason game.."
And I much rather have them move here permanently and call them "London Jags". But hey, we can’t all have what we want!
There is a lot more, but I think you get the drift.
I baffle me how ignorant and flat out repulsive your comments can be about your brothers on the other side of the pond. We are every bit as die hard - maybe even more so, as you need to be when the team is that far away, and we do support you guys with having the team stay in Jags, that the national media sucks etc. etc. So, come on.. Give your international brothers some love!
PS.: See you all for the Jags-Bears game. First ever home game for me. Yeah!
