The first half for the Jaguars started about as bad as possibly imaginable for a team that won the coin toss and elected to receive. On the first offensive play for the Jaguars, a Blaine Gabbert pitch intended for the arms of Rashad Jennings instead bounced off of fullback Greg Jones and resulted in a fumble that the Falcons recovered. Jacquizz Rodgers scored on the ensuing play to give the Falcons a 7-0 lead.

After that the Jaguars' starting offense had two more drives and where the first stalled, the second went for 18-plays as the team methodically made their way down the field. The long drive didn't end in a touchdown, though, as a slant pass from Gabbert intended for Laurent Robinson was just behind the receiver and fell incomplete.

The sole injury for the Jaguars in the first half was suffered by guard Uche Nwaneri who gingerly walked off the field under his own power. Despite being ruled out for the remainder of the game, the early reports are that the ankle injury isn't too serious.

A 14-yard touchdown run by Jalen Parmele tied the game late in the second half and the two teams are tied at 7-7 to begin the second half.
