Jacksonville Jaguars defensive end Austen Lane went down with a foot injury on Aug 2., injuring his foot in individual defensive end drills. The injury looked like it could be bad, as Lane was unable to put any pressure on his right leg and had to be helped to the side to be looked at by trainers. Lane was then carted off the field at the end of practice.
Unfortunately, Lane's injury is worse than expected according to Jaguars head coach Mike Mularkey:
Mularkey says Austen Lane's foot injury worse than first thought, now out 3 weeks

Lane had been having a strong camp up until that point, working on first and second down as the team's left end. With Lane out at least three weeks now, it hurts, but it also gives the Jaguars some extra reps to distribute between second-round pick Andre Branch and guys like Aaron Morgan and George Selvie, who've had strong training camps.
