"Monroe, previously drafted eighth overall, is a terrific athlete, with great feet and quickness, but he has a tendency to get overpowered." (note: I missed the plays where he was overpowered yesterday)
"5. Jacksonville Jaguars — “It’s going to be a long year for (starting second-year QB) Blaine Gabbert — let’s put it that way,” one top NFL personnel director said. “I thought (OLT Eugene) Monroe regressed last year. (Ex-ORT Eben) Britton has to be a guard.”
Monroe, previously drafted eighth overall, is a terrific athlete, with great feet and quickness, but he has a tendency to get overpowered.
The Jags love Britton's tenacity and versatility, but close team observers agree that it’s imperative he proves he can stay on the field and be counted on. He started at left guard in Week One, with second-year player Cameron Bradfield starting at the ORT spot. Both players were in walking boots with ankle issues following the OT loss to the Vikings."
It's nice they spelled Bradfield's name correctly, though. That's probably the sum-total of everything they know about the man.
And while I'm at it.. is kuharsky trying too hard to become the next michael lombardi? http://espn.go.com/blog/afcsouth/post/_/id/40854/what-i-think-the-jaguars-should-be-thinking
"Let's hope our banged up offensive line heals and can protect him, because that Kuharsky is right and we didn't sufficiently address depth there."
I missed the part where he wrote that a previous starting guard, a backup guard and a backup center are all on IR before the season started. pk is a good writer, generally fair, but his hurt feelings about Gene picking a punter who has a 53 yard average is already getting tiresome.
