Be Aggressive. Be Be Aggressive

After re-watching this weeks game, one thing is for certain, the Jaguars aren't being aggressive in nearly any faze of the game. Having Terry Parker's offensive line does not give the offensive staff much confidence in calling plays designed to pick up large chunks of yardage but damn. We need to let loose. Laurent Robinson had a majority of his drops for the Cowboys in routine type plays. Little out passes were not his bread and butter. He earned his large contract this offseason by making tough catches down the field. Give him a chance to make those catches here.

When you spend a top 5 pick on a WR, you better be certain that he has the hands, which Blackmon does, to make tough catches. Very rarely was he double covered. He had single coverage with little help over the top through most of the game. If you dont trust him to be able to make tough catches in single coverage, why trade up for him? I dont blame Blaine, either. He has to be told that sometimes interceptions are ok because they are. If we take some shots down field on second and forever and throw a pick 40 yards down the field, we arent in that much better of position than a 50 yard punt a play later. Having so many guys in the block and getting a four yard gain, which will be called pack when Whimper moves early, is not conducive to long drives. With the starting offensive line in the ice bath at the beginning of the season, we cannot rely on 10 play drives. We cant be a control type offense. We need to strike fast. Put Blaine in the shot gun, spread it out, and let's see what happens. I would much rather lose the game while being aggressive than have 34 terrible, conservative plays. Trust Blaine. Trust the talent you brought in. Give the team a chance. Tell Blaine to be free enough to make some mistakes. This stick-up-the-ass power game with an offensive line penalty every other play wont cut it. Make the safeties play safety. Otherwise, we will what they thought we were. And if that is the case, anybody know where I can do SCUBA in San Antonio on Sunday afternoons?
