Jaguars rookie defensive end Andre Branch is undergoing surgery on Thursday, presumably on his groin.

The Jacksonville Jaguars were hit hard with injuries once again in the 2012 season, including to rookie defensive end Andre Branch. Branch injured his groin late in the season and was placed on injured reserve in mid-December. On Thursday, Branch tweeted out that he was undergoing surgery, presumably on his groin.

Branch was drafted in the second round out of Clemson by the Jaguars in the 2012 NFL Draft and quickly impressed coaches and fans in training camp and the preseason. Unfortunately, that ability and excitement didn't seem to translate over to the regular season, like a lot of things for the Jaguars.

Branch ended the 2012 season with 12 tackles, a sack, and one forced fumble. The Jaguars will be looking for big improvement from Branch in the 2013 season.
