The new GM of the Jaguars says that a transition to a 3-4 can be quick for the team.

The idea of a switch in defensive scheme has been tossed around following a 2-14 season in which the Jaguars defense plummeted from No. 6 in the NFL in 2011 to No. 30 just one season later. New general manager Dave Caldwell told Ryan O'Halloran of the Florida Times-Union on Thursday that a decision to switch schemes, though, would have to come from the new head coach and defensive coordinator.

The Jaguars are set to begin that search for a new head coach soon, and although some names of potential candidates have been tossed around by the media, Caldwell was unwilling to talk about any names on Thursday. He did say, though, that a transition to a 3-4 can be quick for the team.

After a 2-14 season, the Jaguars have the No. 2 overall selection in the 2013 NFL Draft which is being projected as a defensive player for the Jaguars in almost all NFL mock drafts.
