The Falcons personnel director had a previous meeting with the team on Monday.
Two days after Shahid Khan flew to Gainesville, Georgia to interview Dave Caldwell, the personnel director for the Atlanta Falcons, for the general manager vacancy, Khan flew Caldwell in to Jacksonville for a second meeting on Wednesday, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com.
Caldwell is in his first season as the personnel director after he was promoted from his position as the director of college scouting with the team. He had previous experience with the Colts and Panthers before joining the Falcons.
The Khan flight tracker shows that the Jaguars owner flew from his home in Champaign/Urbana, Illinois to Jacksonville, Florida with a brief, 18-minute stop in Atlanta, Georgia, presumably to pick up Dave Caldwell for a trip to Jacksonville.
In Ryan O'Halloran's chat with fans on Wednesday, he said that the Jaguars are unlikely to fill the general manager position until Monday. Sources have corroborated that report and also say that Tom Gamble is still very much a candidate for the position, but a second meeting in Jacksonville is certainly a good sign for Caldwell.
