The 49ers offense finished 2012 as the No. 11 ranked team in scoring and yardage gained.

If Falcons Personnel Director Dave Caldwell is hired as the new general manager of the Jaguars, San Francisco 49ers offensive coordinator Greg Roman is considered to be a "strong candidate" to replace Mike Mularkey as head coach of the Jaguars, according to a report from Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports.

Roman is in his second season as offensive coordinator of the 49ers after he followed Jim Harbaugh from Stanford to the NFL. He coached 13 seasons in the NFL as an assistant coach with the Carolina Panthers, Houston Texans and Baltimore Ravens before spending two seasons with Harbaugh at Stanford.

La Canfora previously reported that Caldwell is considered to be the favorite to fill the Jaguars general manager vacancy. Caldwell was the Falcons' Director of College Scouting during the four seasons that Mike Mularkey served as the team's offensive coordinator.

Mularkey led the Jaguars to a 2-14 record in his first season as the team's head coach.
