Caldwell has had experience scouting in the NFL with a number of different positions since 1996.
Earlier suspicions that a jet owned by Shahid Khan was traveling to Atlanta for Dave Caldwell were essentially confirmed on Monday with a report from NFL Network's Albert Breer who said that the Atlanta Falcons director of player personnel is having his third interview with the team on Monday for their vacant general manager position.
Caldwell had previous interviews in Gainesville, Georgia and Jacksonville, Florida, but the location of his third interview has not yet been reported. Presumably, Jaguars fans will be able to speculate about the location of the interview based on the flight tracker of Khan's jet that landed in Atlanta, Georgia at 9:57 a.m. ET.
A former outside linebacker for the John Carroll Blue Streaks, Caldwell first broke into the NFL as an assistant scout for the Carolina Panthers in 1996. He has since worked his way through the ranks and was promoted to director of player personnel for the Falcons in 2012 after four seasons as the team's director of college scouting.
