Tale of the tape: Measuring the 2013 Jaguars vs. 1995 expansion Jaguars - CBSSports.com
I was the first beat guy to cover the Jacksonville Jaguars. I was there for the expansion season. I saw a lot of bad football. The most embarrassing moment in franchise history came in 1995 when the Detroit Lions, in a 44-0 rout, took knees in the second half rather than run plays in an attempt to score more. True story. Can you imagine if that happened now? It would go viral. The reason I bring this up is because this year's Jaguars team is considered one of the worst ever. At 0-5, heading to Denver as 28-point underdogs, they sure aren't good. So it got me to thinking: Which starting 22 is best, the 1995 expansion team that went 4-12 or the 2013 version?

Chad Henne gets another chance at QB for Jaguars | jacksonville.com
Jaguars quarterback Chad Henne has had something of a roller coaster season. He lost the starting job to Blaine Gabbert following the second preseason game, yet has played more than Gabbert because of injury.Henne will make his third start of the regular season Sunday at Denver. Gabbert, who recently recovered from a thumb injury, was knocked out of last week’s loss to St. Louis with a hamstring strain.

Inside the Jaguars: Staying on field a key
Keep Peyton Manning off the field. That’s an obvious goal for the Jaguars’ offense Sunday, and conventional NFL wisdom would say that in order to do that, a team needs to run effectively. Jedd Fisch said that’s true . . . to a point. Fisch, the Jaguars’ offensive coordinator, said while keeping opportunities as limited as possible for Manning and the Denver Broncos’ offense Sunday is important, the way to do that is not necessarily to establish the run at any and all costs. "You have to run the ball effectively," Fisch said Thursday as the Jaguars (0-5) prepared to play the Broncos (5-0) at Sports Authority Field at Mile High in Denver, Colo., Sunday at 4:05 p.m.
