2014 NFL Draft: Jaguars scouting UCLA, likely Brett Hundley, Anthony Barr

Stephen Dunn

As the 2013 season rolls along, NFL teams have their scouts across the country and this past weekend the Jaguars had some keeping an eye on UCLA.

The Jacksonville Jaguars are likely to have scouts all over the play during the season, especially at some major college games considering their need for a quarterback of the future. The team already sent a trio of personnel including Dave Caldwell to watch Louisville and Teddy Bridgewater, but over the weekend they also had some scouts keeping an eye on UCLA, likely keeping tabs on quarterback Brett Hundley and pass rusher Anthony Barr.

Depending on who you talk to, Hundley is rated as high as the second best quarterback in the upcoming draft but generally listed within the Top 5 prospects. He's a big quarterback listed at 6'3 and 222 pounds, but looks much bigger than that on the field. He's got a strong arm and the mobility teams are looking for, in that he's not necessarily a runner, but he can pick up chunks of yardage if need be with his feet. So far on the season he's racked up nearly 1,500 passing yards with 12 touchdowns and four interceptions, as well as 260 rushing yards with three rushing touchdowns.

Barr on the other hand should surely be a Top 5 pick for teams looking for a pass rusher. The stand up linebacker is a terror off the edge, but in his senior season has become much more of a complete linebacker in the mold of Denver Broncos pass rusher Von Miller. At 6'4 and nearly 250 pounds, Barr would be an ideal LEO prospect for the Jaguars if they were to decided on a pass rusher over a quarterback.

Defensive lineman Cassius Marsh on the UCLA defense could also be someone to keep an eye on.
