There seems to be a lot of ignorant comments in regards to how the funding of the scoreboards will happen. With the economy the way it is, folks think the funding will come out of some general tax fund and it will cost the Florida tax payers money. The truth is, using " Bed Tax " does not shut down library's, it cannot be used for roads, it cannot be used fixing the Mathews Bridge or anything close to that. It is ILLEGAL to use the funding for anything but improvements to things like stadiums, arenas, ball parks, etc..
The fund was put into place for Capital improvements that will help spur tourism. Here is a link to the law--> http://www.flsenate.gov/laws/statutes/2011/125.0104 The money comes from additional taxes from hotels and such. This means most of the funding comes from folks visiting Florida. I just wanted to post something to help clear up the misinformation and ignorance floating around. GO JAGUARS!!
