Jaguars vs. Rams 2013 final score: Jacksonville drops another one, 34-20

Jeff Curry-USA TODAY Sports

The Jaguars were slowed once again by poor quarterback play that set the team back in a 34-20 loss to the Rams.

The Jacksonville Jaguars dropped to 0-5 on Sunday with a 34-20 loss to the St. Louis Rams that featured Blaine Gabbert standing on the sidelines watching the final quarter of play.

Officially listed as out with a hamstring injury, it's hard not to think that Gabbert could have played through the injury had the team not asked him to sit out the remainder of the game. After starting the game with a 67-yard touchdown pass to Justin Blackmon to put the Jaguars on top early, he struggled for much of the remainder of the game, throwing two interceptions: one returned for a touchdown and the other in the end zone to kill a scoring opportunity.

In his place came Chad Henne, who also looked terrible, but managed to hit Cecil Shorts III for a four-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter to make things close.

Outside of the poor quarterback play, it was a somewhat positive week for the team that looked much more functional offensively with Blackmon's return to the lineup. On defense, the Jaguars again looked decent, but were hamstrung by an offense that continued to put them in bad spots.

Next week the Jaguars will travel to face the undefeated Denver Broncos, so buckle up everybody.
