Jaguars vs. Titans final score: Defense carries Jacksonville to upset win, 29-27

Jim Brown-USA TODAY Sports

The Jaguars defense forced four turnovers and a safety in an upset victory over the Titans.

With four forced turnovers and a fourth quarter safety, the defense of the Jacksonville Jaguars led the team to their first win of the season, upsetting their division rival-Tennessee Titans 29-27.

The Jaguars earned an early 13-0 lead after a fumble forced of running back Chris Johnson set the team up in the red zone which was promptly turned into a six-yard touchdown for Maurice Jones-Drew. Two more first half turnovers helped the Jaguars to keep the Titans off the scoreboard until late in the second quarter.

While the Jaguars had their greatest point total of the season, the offense struggled most of the game, including two interceptions thrown by Chad Henne, who finished with a 49.2 passer rating after completing 14-of-23 passes for 180 yards.

Instead it was the defense that was responsible for nine points in the fourth quarter to preserve the victory. A holding penalty forced by Sen'Derrick Marks gave the team a safety, while a sack, forced fumble returned for a touchdown by cornerback Will Blackmon ended any remaining Tennessee hopes for a victory.

The Jaguars will next travel back home where they will host the Arizona Cardinals and attempt to win back-to-back games for the first time since December 2010.
