Going 1-15 with the first overall pick vs. Going 4-12

I would love for the Jaguars to have the first overall pick in this years draft, especially enjoying the months of debate, anticipation, and excitement leading up to draft day, being the team on "on the clock". No complaints here if that's how it plays out. However, I think the better scenario would be for the Jaguars to show noticeable improvement over the second half of the season, by building on last weeks victory. To see marked improvement in the young guys like Gratz, Evans, Cyprien, along with some of the new receivers continuing to step up, and finish this season on a high note. A team and culture learning how to win. To have the 5th pick overall for a team that is on it's way up may be better than adding the number one pick to a team that struggled to win one or two ball games. I think Bradley's defense is starting to resemble a very capable defense, perhaps only 2 or 3 players away from becoming borderlone dominant. We all know that getting a difference maker at quarterback is our number one priority. Who knows whether there will be one available with the 5th or 6th overall pick, but it's not too much of a stretch for that to happen. And who knows who the front office will like the best at qb, after the season, combine, and private workout days are complete. I know a lot of BCC contributors are in love with Bridgewater, but I like Manziel, and others like Hundley, Murray, etc. Although, as I said , I would love the number one pick but I think I would prefer to go 500 for the second half of the season and win 4 or 5 games, become competetive each week and show improvement in several areas. Also, it's almost like we'll be getting 2 high first round picks next year with Joeckel coming back healthy and an entire camp of playing his natural position. Go Jags!
