Man, I thought QB fear was bad here, but looking at the Texans blog made me just shake my head. Now that the Texans have descended to the depths of No. 1 pick territory, their fans are having the same Teddy vs Clowney discussion that we have been having most of the season. They have a pretty good write-up on Teddy but most of the Texan fans were still having none of it. And the Aaron Murray love made me LOL.
Here are a few gems (These are all real comments that reflect the opinion of a lot of Texans fans)
On Clowney and QB Fear:
"The difference is that Clowney is an elite pass rusher, Bridgewater is just good. You pick elite over good any day because we don’t have the defense to make a just good QB look worth a shit."
"The risk would be you draft Clowney, he might just be really really good and not elite, the risk of drafting Bridgewater is that he might not be good, he might be just average. IMO that’s too much of a risk."
"Pairing Clowney with a guy like Watt would elevate the defense as a whole, perhaps moreso than Bridgewater could elevate the offense compared to the next-best QB in the second round."
"We shouldn't be taking a taller Russell Wilson at #1"
"Yeah, he was a potential mid to late 1st round pick before the surgery. That will drop him a round or two"
Now, keep in mind these are Texans Fans.....who think that they are worse than JAX, already have a great defense and still think making they're D better will improve their record more than a top QB....follow the two links to laugh at more of the comments...
