Updated 2014 NFL Draft order - fighting for #9

Hello, Big Cats, what are you still wishfully thinking about the first pick in the upcoming draft? No, of course you are not because that would be totes wrong and futile.

As you may recall, two weeks ago the worst team in the NFL history was fighting its way out of garnering the first pick of the 2014 NFL Draft by virtue of the Dirty Dozen's upcoming schedules -- and math!! -- (http://www.bigcatcountry.com/2013/11/25/5145920/jags-fighting-for-fourth-pick-in-draft ) and were locking in on the fourth pick of the draft.

But that was back when there was no question the Jags were the worst team in the history of the NFL. (Now, some doubt about that, however unfounded, is beginning to creep in.) Sure, based on the comments of fans, players, coaches and owners, the Jags still are the worst team in the history of the NFL, and a loss to them is the lowest point in the professional and personal lives of all those smited (smote?). But that sounds to me more like sour grapes than an actual evaluation of the Jaguars’ play.

Annie who, for your reading pleasure, below is the current draft order according to BCC's Adam Stites (http://www.bigcatcountry.com/2013/12/9/5191142/nfl-draft-2014-order-tiebreaker-strength-of-schedule )

That order, however, will change.

With three games remaining, I again broke down the Dirty Dozen's upcoming opponents. A game against a Top20 team is counted as a loss. Games between Dirty Dozen teams are split 50-50. Add the losses, add the wins (or half-wins), and you get... tada... this: the new and improved prediction of the 2014 NFL Draft.

Re +\-, a positive number represents number of places a team has risen (gotten closer to #1) in draft order. A negative number indicates number of places sliding down in the draft order. I didn't factor in head-to-head or intraconference or strength of schedule to determine the finer points of draft order.

Suffice to say, the Jags are trying very hard to work their way out of the Top 10.

Please modify your mock drafts accordingly.
