I think the ESPN Playoff Machine is broken......

I may be wrong, but the machine computes that even with equal records (7 - 9), in the scenario that I put in, we still get in over Baltimore, Pittsburgh, San Diego, and Miami. Now I get that there may be other factors (strength of schedule and stuff) that might put us in over Baltimore, Pittsburgh, and Miami, but how does that happen against San Diego since they beat us head to head? One of you here has a better understanding of this and I would really love to know. Do I think they make the post season show....no, but it is fun to follow!!
