2014 Mock Draft (9th Overall Pick)

Round 1, Pick 9: OLB Khalil Mack (Buffalo)

Pros:

- Holds NCAA records for career forced fumbles (16) and career tackles for loss (75).

- Good frame (6’ 3" 250 lbs) and speed (4.6 40) for the LEO position

- Adds pass rush talent to compliment the young and improving secondary

Cons:

- Poor competition in the MAC division

Round 2, Pick 41: QB AJ McCarron (Alabama)

Pros:

- Led Alabama to back to back National Championships

- Rarely turns the ball over, posting a 26 to 5 TD to INT ratio in 2013

- Very accurate on short to intermediate throws

- Fills a need with the Henne/Gabbert era mercifully coming to an end

Cons:

- Question of how much his production is a result of the talent around him

- Less than ideal touch on deep throws, often over or underthrowing his receivers

Round 3, Pick 73: C Tyler Larsen (Utah State)

Pros:

- 2nd ranked prospect at his position, potential to be a long-term fixture on the O-Line

- Fills a need with Meester in decline

Round 3 (Trade both 4th round picks for late 3rd ): OLB Jeremiah Attaochu (LSU)

Pros:

- Another strong LEO candidate at 6’ 3" 250 lbs, 12 sacks in 2013 and 10 sacks in 2012

Round 5: WR Josh Huff (Oregon)

Pros:

- Important piece of an explosive offense

- Speed (4.45 40)

Cons:

- Question of how much his production is a result of the talent around him

Round 5: OG Brandon Linder (Miami)

Pros:

- Size (6’ 6" 320 lbs)

- First offensive lineman from Miami to be invited to Senior Bowl since Eric Winston

Round 5: WR TJ Jones (Notre Dame)

Pros:

- Healthy production (1042 yards and 9 TD in 2013)

Round 6: OG Ryan Groy (Wisconsin)

Pros:

- Size (6’ 5" 320 lbs)

- Helped pave the way for Wisconsin’s running attack this year

Round 7: PR/RB Jeff Scott (Ole Miss)

Pros:

- Averaged over 7 yards a carry in 2013
