Jeremy Mincey Wasn't Inspired In Jacksonville

Apparently Jeremy Mincey was immune to Gus Bradley's positive attitude.

Apparently not everybody bought into the positive message that Jaguars head coach Gus Bradley has been instilling in the locker room this season.

Former Jaguars defensive end Jeremy Mincey, who was released by the team last week for reportedly missing mandatory team meetings, told the media in his new home in Denver that he was lacking inspiration in Jacksonville.

Given the situation, it isn't surprising that Mincey appeared to check out this season. When the Jaguars signed him to a four-year deal prior to the 2012 season, the former regime did so expecting him to play the role of an every down 4-3 defensive end.

That role disappeared in the new defensive scheme utilized by Bradley, and Mincey was never a really good fit for what he wanted to do. His lack of playing time this season was proof of this as it appeared at times the Jaguars defensive staff was trying to shoehorn Mincey into certain situations.

Still, the fact that Mincey wasn't inspired by Bradley should raise some red flags about his overall commitment to football. Maybe getting a fresh start with the Broncos and playing for a familiar face in defensive coordinator Jack Del Rio is what he needs to get his inspiration back.
