Mullayo's much too early draft 2.0

This is based on the actual DraftTek Mock draft and after round 5 their player rankings. All these players were available at those positions and the UDFAs were all over ranking 240.

Round 1: Teddy to Texas. Rams take Jake Matthews meaning Clowney is BPA.Bortles our franchise QB was taken at 49 so I snapped him up at 35.

My profile from film watching of Blake Bortles

Roethlisberger-lite. The 6ft 4in, 230lb, Bortles is best on the move and improvising finding checkdown recievers. He has the durable Roethlisberger/Luck build and body confidence that could see him have a long successful career.

PROS: The World could end and Bortles would keep his eyes downfield looking to make a final throw. He doesn't panic when it all breaks down and will step into the pocket or scramble keeping the play alive and adjusts his throws accordingly. He's a by-product of his body type, big and capable with Roethlisberger's feel for when to run, he has a soft touch on his throws because he's often improvising and throwing to a running back or free TE. This leads to him spreading the ball around and not playing favourites, which is hard to guard against. Seems to play in a system similar to ours out of the shotgun with short passes such as slants and checkdowns to the flat. This could help him step straight in to our system from day one.

CONS: He's not an elite passer with average arm strength and his consequently numbers don't leap out at you. The 3280yds at 68% completion with 22TDs and 7ints are only okay numbers, although he is only a junior and another year would certainly improve those. He leans on the running game of Storm Johnson and would need the same production here. His eligible receivers are good and know to never give up on plays and bail him out with comebacks and great catches. He takes risks and while well-built, you're only one hit away from IR. He's basically somewhere between Roethlisberger-lite and a bigger, better Chad Henne without the batted-ball curse.

OVERALL: If he does declare, - and I hear 22 of their team are returning - I'd be happy to see him play here. He'd be fun to watch and infuriating for other teams as he keeps plays and drives alive.
