WR? 3 years in a row!!!

The last 2 years we have drafted well in the department of wide receivers with Cecil Shorts in 2011 & Justin Blackmon in 2012. I think we should continue this success in the 2013 draft due to number of great wide receivers. I know people will say we have more pressing needs but we need more talent period and I think the wide receiver position has the most talent next to the defensive line/linebackers in this draft. 2012 was a good year for Cecil and Justin although Justin struggled early on in the year. These guys are major contributors to our offense and I believe can help gabbert immensely when there on the field next year. Our "passing game" lost a step once cecil went down with a concussion allowing teams to focus on Blackmon. Blackmon was our only starting receiver to play the whole season laurent was out multiple games & cecil was banged up after the bills & pats game. Jordan shipley came on and was serviceable but I don't see us resigning him nor is he the answer for our slot position. There are a plethora of wide receivers throughout this draft none I see as elite first rounders but many players who are high impact and explosive that will go later in the draft. With a last effort for a developing quarterback I think drafting a wide receiver is plausible especially since I think we'll be trading down from the 2nd pick. So here are some of the guys the jags should target based on the film i've watched. I'm also assuming laurent will not be back due to his extensive concussions but i wish him the best.

Cordarrelle Patterson: This guy is amazing in the open field he is very fast and shifty especially for his size at 6'3 205. He was a former JUCO player his numbers this year aren't gaudy but if you watch his film most of his yards came after the catch. He is a burner and an excellent kick returner. His role changed near the end of the year and he was used more on jet sweeps and run plays but he still produced. He reminds me a lot of percy harvin due to his burst and elusiveness I can see him being that all purpose type of player like harvin & I believe he's a good player the jaguars need to spark the offense. If we had he had him in the slot or outside along with blackmon, and cecil shorts our offense would be a big play waiting to happen on every play.

Cobi Hamilton: Him and Cordarrelle are almost clones of each other same height at 6'3 while Hamilton is a little heftier at 209. in his 2012 season he recorded 90 receptions, 1335 yards and 5 touchdowns. He averaged almost 15 yards a catch & he is very good at locating the ball and is shockingly elusive for his size. His combination of size and speed along with elusiveness would be a great addition to the jags receiving core.

Ace sanders: 45 receptions almost 12 yards per catch average 2 punt return td's 9 receiving td's and he's got speed for days. He would be strictly slot since he's highly undersized but his returning skills and speed would be good to have on offense.

Stedman Bailey: Excellent route runner good hands and very elusive. He's not the biggest guy but he's very shifty and can make plays coming out of the backfield or outside. He's not ranked highly but i believe he's one of the mor polished receivers in this tears draft.

Honorable mentions: Terrance Williams, Marcus Wheaton, Robert Woods.

Give me your thoughts. Go jaguars.
