With the recent purge of high cost players with no perceived future with the team, it makes one wonder what our MJD strategy will be going into 2013. At face value keeping MJD and his 4.95 mil salary in 2013 doesn't seem to be that bad of a deal considering his past production and his undoubted motivation to perform in a contract year. But does it mesh with the plans of the new front office? Does a team in complete rebuild require the services of a running back coming off surgery who turns 28 on March 23rd and will likely not be back with the team in 2014? That is an interesting question and one that we should see play out shortly.
We know Rashard Jennings is not the answer. If MJD isn't back who would run the rock for the black & teal?
