The Jags have closed in on their second free agent target of this offseason, RT Tyler Polumbus, who will be visiting with the Jags on Thursday according to The Florida Times-Union.
Polumbus is only 28 which is around what the Jags are looking for. Pair that with his massive 6 foot 8 inch frame and 310 pounds and you've got a huge upgrade at RT compared to what the Jags had last year by all means. The other piece of the puzzle is the experience that Polumbus has in the zone blocking scheme that the Jags are implementing this year.
Polumbus also has some connections with the new coaching staff. During his time in Denver, new Offensive Coordinator Jedd Fisch was on the staff as well as in Seattle where Polumbus played for a staff that included Fisch and new Head Coach, Gus Bradley.
Polumbus started 15 out of 16 games for the Washington Redskins and was only called for two penalties all season long--one thing the Jags are in dire need of improvement on (Offensive Line Penalties). Polumbus's salary last year was just $700,000-a sign of indication that the Jags may be able to lock him up for a very long time.
