Gus Bradley is not conventional

Most people who are football aficionados are obsessed with what HAS been done and who HAS done it. The game is focused on the past. The particular confirmation of people in a certain position is a template for future draft choices or agency acquisitions. Coaches spend untold hours defining observables (height, weight, arm length, speed, high jumping, weightlifting, "impact" "leadership" and so on ad infinitum). It is a rare person who defies all of that and looks outside the parameters. Gus Bradley, in my opinion, is such a person. More than that, I would tell you to be thankful that you have him. You see, Bradley looks at what a player CAN be, not what he HAS been. If you ask me what Gus looks at particularly I would say that "I don't know", he is an artist. He knows what to look for without being able to articulate it. That is his advantage. He is an artist and a man who is willing to take a chance. I don’t care what the names are he will use his "art" to asses them and decide if he thinks they will help his team. How true is his art? Well, think about Bruce Irvin. I know that Pete Carol gets the acclaim but Gus thought it through and chose him. Or think about Chris Clemons. Gus did not pull the trigger but who do you thing Pete relied upon to inform him and give him the go ahead? Gus Bradley. Pete knows enough to hire good people and the let them do what they were hired to do. He lets them use their talents, be it on the field or in the office. Gus Bradley is going to coach you guys a winner. If you pray then pray for a harmonious relationship between you coaching staff and scouting staff. Pray that they will share with each other without hubris and knowing that each benefits for sound decisions. If Gus Bradley brings anything, and he brings a HUGE plus, he brings cooperation. It is now up to the rest of the folks to recognize that and let the "cowboy dance".
