Mohamed Massaquoi visited the Jaguars, according to report

Matt Sullivan

The Jacksonville Jaguars hosted free agent wide receiver Mohamed Massaquoi on Monday, according to a report by Aaron Wilson of The National Football Post.

Massaquoi was originally drafted by the Browns in the second round of the 2009 NFL Draft out of the University of Georgia. He played in 43 games for the Browns and was slow to get going in his career and was often just a secondary wide receiver or the third option and viewed as a disappointing draft pick by most Browns fans.

In four seasons with the Browns Massaquoi picked up 118 receptions and 1,745 yards with 7 touchdowns.

The Jaguars released wide receiver Laurent Robinson a while ago and re-signed Jordan Shipley, but the receiver position is still a little thin behind Cecil Shorts III and Justin Blackmon. Blackmon and Shorts would seem to be entrenched as starters going forward, but if Massaquoi is signed he could challenge Shipley for the third receiver role.
