As I watched the NFL Network, Charley Casserly was giving his updated top-10 mock draft (and for those of you who don't know Casserly is, he was a GM in the NFL for 16 years for the Redskins and Texans), and he had the Jaguars taking Eric Fisher from Central Michigan.
Now I don't necessarily have a problem with Fisher, especially since he came out and said he'd play Right Tackle and outside of a pass rush and consistent QB play, I'm sure if the Jaguars fan base were polled, most would say that is the biggest need this year, but I hate what he said to justify the pick.
........A natural Left Tackle. You got Monroe already, you move him over to the right side and you give your Quarterback a chance, cause now you got both ends protected.
Monroe had a breakout year last year. Other than Cecil Shorts, Monroe probably had the best season of any Jaguar. Sure he was decent to begin his career, but last season he looked like a top 10 Left Tackle. So why does every person in the media outside of Jacksonville continue to say move Monroe. I just don't see that happening. I also think we will bring him back after this year (as we should if he plays as well as he did), but only if he's playing on the left. He's proved he can be a dominant blind side blocker so why would he settle for Right Tackle money when he could make the big bucks?
I hope I'm not the minority here, what do you guys think?
