Dwayne Gratz draws Carlos Rogers comparison from position coach

The Jacksonville Jaguars spend five of their eight 2013 NFL Draft picks on defensive backs, including third-round selection Dwayne Gratz. Gratz was picked by the Jaguars because he's long, fast, physical, and strong at the line of scrimmage, which are all key traits for head coach Gus Bradley's defense.

Gratz reminds the Jaguars coaching staff of a former first-round pick at the position.

"He’s just a football player. He reminds me a little bit of Carlos Rogers when I had him as a rookie in Washington," Jaguars secondary coach DeWayne Walker told Ryan O'Halloran of The Florida Times-Union. "He’s tough and just a smooth player. And you can see he has good football instincts."

The Jaguars are preaching competition at every position in camp so far and Gratz will have to earn the starting gig, but from what it looks and sounds like so far, he should be one of the Jaguars opening day starters at the position.
